Serving as the voice of the customer, this role involves conducting comprehensive market and product research, as well as in-depth market analysis, to generate actionable insights. These insights support model strategy and lifecycle planning, sales planning, and model specific planning activities leading up to development.Key Accountabilities Product Knowledge: Develop and maintain a comprehensive understanding of the marine industry, including product line-ups of Honda and its core competitors. This includes in-depth knowledge of boat types, engine systems, and related technologies. Additionally, demonstrate expertise in the marine business ecosystem, covering both retail and wholesale processes to support strategic product plans.Research: Conduct and support complex research projects to gather insights that inform product planning and future strategic initiatives. Organize and participate in marine research events, such as trade shows, customer, and dealer visits. Responsibilities include coordinating events, research vendor management, analyzing data, and creating reports to ensure actionable insights.Analysis: Compile and analyze primary and secondary data utilizing various research methodologies and data sources. Generate and interpret insights from data to uncover customer preferences, satisfaction, purchase behaviors, future vehicle needs, trade-offs, and more. Effectively present findings through clear and visually compelling charts, graphs, and reports to support data-driven decision-making.Product Planning: Gather and synthesize product trend data and effectively identify and summarize customer needs. Craft clear stories based on data and customer needs on essential development requirements. Clearly communicate product descriptions, specifications, features, and pricing details while articulating the product role, target customers, and business objectives. Coordinate with development and sales team members to ensure alignment and deliver critical information at key stages of the development cycle.Qualifications, Experience, and Skills Minimum Educational QualificationsBachelor's Degree or equivalent work experienceMinimum ExperienceRequires 5-10 years of experience with marine products with a few years work experience as a research analyst and/or product manager.Other Job-Specific SkillsHigh proficiency of Excel, PowerPoint.Proficiency in SPSS, Tableau, and PowerBI a plus.Highly data driven, logical, analytical, that can read data and translate them into a clear and concise story.
