Grade: Services 203

Pay Range: $17.35 - $25.19

Job Description

As a Credential Intake Assistant, you'll play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth processing of academic credentials and transcripts for prospective students. Your meticulous attention to detail and commitment to accuracy will help maintain the integrity of student records and support the university's mission.

What You'll Do

  • Process and evaluate transcript and credential requests for prospective or continuing graduate students.
  • Ensure that requests are accurately processed, fulfilled in a timely manner, and comply with university policies and regulations.
  • Act as an individual contributor to provide support in a variety of routine and standardized responsibilities within the Credential Evaluation team.
  • Maintain assigned aspects of the academic record, including, but not limited to, receiving and maintaining student documentation under consideration for review, and accurately recording results in the appropriate systems.
  • Maintain all pertinent records in compliance with federal and state laws, university regulations, and policies. The associate will have a strong attention to detail and the ability to be both a team player and an independent contributor.
  • Work efficiently and report work time accurately, to be good stewards of the students’ tuition dollars.
  • Collaborate with a team lead, supervisor, or manager as needed.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

What You'll Bring

  • Demonstrated ability to analyze information and come to appropriate conclusions, driven by policies and procedures.
  • Ability to work individually and collectively to meet individual, team, and department objectives to be accurate, fair, helpful, and quick in an environment that is a great place to work.
  • Strong communication skills, ability to analyze, and ability to assess information.

Experience In Lieu Of Education

Equivalent relevant experience performing the essential functions of this job may substitute for education degree requirements. Generally, equivalent relevant experience is defined as 1 year of experience for 1 year of education and is the discretion of the hiring manager.

What To Expect

At WGU, our mission drives everything we do—including how we hire. Our interview experience is designed to give qualified candidates the opportunity to show their best work through meaningful conversations, practical problem-solving, and authentic collaboration.

We thoughtfully review every application and invite forward the candidates whose experience and potential best align with the role and our mission. If selected, you’ll hear from a recruiter or hiring manager who will guide you through the process and help you know what to expect at each stage. We aim to communicate decisions promptly and respectfully.

Here’s what that typically looks like:

  • Introductory phone call (~30 minutes): We’ll walk you through who we are at WGU and learn about your relevant experience.

We're looking forward to getting to know you and seeing how you think, collaborate and build. Welcome to WGU.
