Overall Purpose:
As a Real Estate Lawyer for a major telecommunications company, you will serve as the principal legal advisor on all real estate matters across the organization. This position oversees the legal aspects of real property transactions, including purchases, sales, leases, and easements, as well as land use, zoning, and permitting related to network infrastructure. You will collaborate closely with internal business units, external counsel, and counterparties to ensure the company’s real estate activities align with strategic objectives.
Key Responsibilities:
Advise executive leadership and business teams on all legal matters pertaining to real estate, including acquisitions, dispositions, and development of property to support company operations and network expansion.
Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of real estate contracts, such as purchase and sale agreements, leases, subleases, easements, licenses, and rights-of-way.
Manage due diligence for real estate transactions, identifying potential risks and ensuring clear title, environmental compliance, and resolution of encumbrances or liens.
Oversee land use, zoning, and permitting processes for construction and operation of telecommunications facilities.
Direct outside counsel and coordinate with internal legal, compliance, and risk management teams to manage litigation or disputes related to real estate assets.
Develop and implement real estate policies, best practices, and training materials to ensure consistent risk management and regulatory compliance across the company.
Monitor changes in real estate law, telecommunications regulations, and industry standards, proactively advising stakeholders of impacts to business operations.

Qualifications:
Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school; active and good standing with a state bar.
8+ years of experience in real estate law, with a proven track record in complex commercial transactions, preferably in the telecommunications, utilities, or infrastructure sectors.
Extensive experience negotiating and closing purchases, sales, leases, and easements of commercial and industrial properties.
Excellent leadership, negotiation, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage multiple high-value projects and deadlines in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
