The Facilities Technician III performs maintenance within the UWM Student Union. The UWM Student Union encompasses five floors and 330,000 square feet , which includes ten dining units, two conference centers, several retail spaces, a recreation center, and an art gallery. Services are also provided for tenants and other departments housed within the facility.
The Facilities Technician III i nspects, maintains , and repairs equipment and facilities to ensure property meets established standards and to prevent further damage. They assist with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed. This position primarily works 2 nd shift (2:30PM – 11PM) Monday through Friday, with flexible or extended hours as determined by department needs.
Key Job Responsibilities:
Utilizes equipment to repair and maintain complex machinery, equipment, and facility property to prevent further damage and ensure optimal operation .
Performs routine and non-routine facility inspections and monitors cleanliness .
Troubleshoots, escalates, and documents issues according to established policies and procedures .
Manage the receipt, inspects, inventories, and distributes facility-related deliveries to appropriate areas, ensuring accuracy and timely handling .
Assists trades, crafts, vendors, and technical staff with construction, design, and operational maintenance as needed .
