Job Description

Summary

The Teacher Assistant supports the Lead Teachers, assisting in activities, classroom management, cleaning & sanitizing, curriculum prep and overall care for the children. Must be able to communicate, listen and work well with others in a team environment. Assistant Teacher must be experienced and understand children's social-emotional, cognitive and physical development milestones.

Duties

• Actively assist in the implementation of curricula, daily activities, classroom management, daily cleaning & sanitizing, hygiene for the children, classroom and activity prep, and students records.
• Provide an inviting environment that reflects the children's learning and growth.
• Encourage self-help and good hygiene through behavior modeling.
• Help ensure smooth transitions throughout daily activities.
• Open communication with co-workers, supervisors and parents.
• Follow all center policies and state regulations.
• Maintain personal professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Minimum of 1-2 years of professional child care experience.
• High energy.
• Ability to work well and collaborate effectively with others.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.
• An understanding of child development.
• Excellent organizational, leadership and interpersonal skills.
• 30 Basic STARS hours.
• Infant/child CPR and First Aid certification.
• Must clear full background check.
