Job Description

This is a remote opportunity for candidates based in the Central USA time zone

First, a little about us:

  • Born in 2000 as an ad agency for the video game community.
  • Ad agency partner for Indiana Jones, Doom, Starfield, Magic: the Gathering, Sonic, Final Fantasy and more! See our work at .
  • Our clients are growing quickly - and so are we.
  • This position will report remotely to our Chicago office.

If you’re a seasoned media professional with a passion for gaming, advertising, and data, it's time to level up with us!

We put data-driven insights, analytics, and player behavior at the core of everything we do. More than just a media agency, we operate like a laboratory - constantly testing, refining, and evolving our approach to be the best possible extension of our clients' teams.

By deeply understanding player motivations and market dynamics, we craft strategies that don’t just drive awareness but turn games into cultural phenomena. From high-level strategic planning to executing precision-targeted digital campaigns across display, social, page takeovers, digital video, and beyond, we make every decision with data, impact, and innovation in mind.

What’s this position about?

As a Media Strategist, you will be responsible for developing, executing, and optimizing comprehensive media strategies for our clients. You will leverage your expertise in paid media operations, campaign analysis, and strategic planning to drive results. You’ll manage campaigns from conception to reporting, ensuring alignment with client objectives and agency best practices. You will collaborate extensively with internal teams and may have opportunities for client-facing interactions.

What you’ll do

  • Develop, execute, and manage innovative, data-driven paid media strategies across various digital and traditional channels (e.g., social, display, video, programmatic, influencer).
  • Own the end-to-end campaign lifecycle, including planning, setup, trafficking, QA, monitoring, optimization, and reporting.
  • Conduct in-depth market research, competitive analysis, and audience segmentation to identify strategic opportunities and inform campaign development.
  • Analyze campaign performance data to generate actionable insights and provide strategic recommendations for optimization and future campaigns.
  • Manage campaign budgets effectively, ensuring optimal pacing, spend allocation, and achievement of KPIs.
  • Collaborate closely with internal teams (e.g., creative, analytics, account management) to ensure integrated and impactful campaign execution.
  • Prepare and present strategic recommendations, campaign performance reports, and insights to internal stakeholders and potentially clients.
  • Stay at the forefront of emerging trends, tools, platforms, and best practices in digital media, advertising technology, and the gaming industry.
  • Mentor and guide junior team members, fostering a culture of learning and excellence.
  • Contribute to new business pitches and proposals as needed.

Please note this is an opportunity to join our media buying teams, not for creative strategy/execution.

Requirements

  • Proven experience (2+ years) in media planning, buying, and strategy, preferably within an agency environment or the gaming industry.
  • Expertise in managing paid media campaigns across key digital advertising platforms (e.g., Google Ads, Facebook Ads Manager, Twitter Ads, TikTok Ads Manager, DSPs).
  • Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with advanced proficiency in Excel (or Google Sheets) for data analysis, modeling, and visualization.
  • Experience with analytics platforms (e.g., Google Analytics) and data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Google Data Studio) is highly desirable.
  • Proficiency with presentation software (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides) and office suite applications (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Workspace).
  • Outstanding verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex strategies and data-driven insights clearly and persuasively.
  • Excellent project management, organizational, and problem-solving skills, with a proven ability to manage multiple campaigns and deadlines effectively.
  • A strategic and proactive thinker with a strong passion for innovation in media and advertising.
  • Deep passion for video games and an understanding of the gaming community and culture.
  • Experience with A/B testing, multivariate testing, and other optimization methodologies.
  • Familiarity with media research tools (e.g., Similarweb, Newzoo, Nielsen, Simmons, GlobalWebIndex).
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a collaborative team in a fast-paced, remote environment.

Benefits

What's in it for you?

  • Base salary: $68,000–$75,000 based on skills and experience level
  • Eligibility for a generous annual bonus plan
  • Comprehensive benefits package, including fully paid private health insurance.
  • Generous paid time off to support work-life balance
  • Home office stipends supporting a fully remote work environment
