Cost Accountant | Allendale, MI

Salary Range: $68,000 - $102,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Allendale seeking Cost Accountants who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain standard costs for all manufactured products and processes.
• Analyze manufacturing variances (material, labor, overhead) and report on their drivers.
• Perform inventory valuation, reconciliation, and obsolescence analysis.
• Prepare detailed cost reports, profitability analysis, and gross margin reports.
• Assist in the annual budgeting and forecasting processes, focusing on production costs.
• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and process efficiency improvements within operations.
• Participate in month-end close activities related to inventory and Cost of Goods Sold (COGS).

Recommended Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• 3-5+ years of cost accounting experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong proficiency with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and advanced Microsoft Excel.
• In-depth knowledge of standard costing, variance analysis, and inventory valuation methods.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze production costs and identify opportunities for cost savings.

Bonus Qualifications

• Experience with Lean manufacturing principles or Six Sigma methodologies.
• Proficiency in data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
• Experience with ERP system implementation or module optimization (e.g., SAP CO, Oracle Financials).
• Ability to develop and maintain complex financial models for forecasting and scenario planning.
