Role: Senior Hardware Design Engineer

Location: Calabasas, CA 91302/Onsite

Job Type: Fulltime/Permanent

The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will serve as the Electrical Engineering lead in the design, development, and testing of analog/digital electronics for new products in various product categories. This is a hands-on position in a creative, fun and driven work environment, with outstanding growth potential for the right candidate.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & RESPONSIBILITIES The Senior Hardware Design Engineer will architect analog and digital systems for music products used by musicians worldwide. Collaborate daily with scrum masters, project managers, product designers, and product testers. Contribute to product definition and design and enjoy a creative development environment.

· Analyze product/system requirements and define the appropriate analog, digital or mixed-system hardware system architecture.

· Design electrical circuitry, including schematic entry and PCB layout.

· Troubleshoot hardware prototypes and verify all aspects of electrical performance.

· Determine optimal solutions to hardware design issues discovered during design verification.

· Ensure product compliance with applicable worldwide electromagnetic and safety standards.

· Collaborate with product owners to understand and refine product requirements.

· Collaborate with other engineering disciplines and other key stakeholders to determine best approach to achieving all product/project requirements.

· Develop hardware development schedules & task breakdowns. Also meet all required development deadlines.

· Create accurate test reports, bills-of-material and other technical documentation.

· Support the development of production test fixtures for PCBA and product final test.

· Support new design ramp-up at contract manufacturer sites, including occasional travel overseas.

· Support ongoing production, as-needed, by investigating manufacturing and component end-of-life issues.

Requirements:

· B.S. in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent industry experience.

· 8+ years' experience in audio hardware development, including digital, analog, and mixed-signal electronics.

· Proficient in schematic capture and PCB layout CAD software; experience with Mentor Graphics PADS preferred.

· Working knowledge of audio-specific test equipment, such as Audio Precision, Spectral Measurement/Prism, etc

· Working knowledge of hardware and software development tools, including electromagnetic and thermal simulation, is preferred.

· Ability to work in an engineering lab and competent with standard lab equipment including oscilloscopes, current probes, spectrum analyzers, and signal generators.

· Ability to accurately provide development time/resource estimates for a given set of technical/project requirements.

· Detail-oriented team player with excellent documentation and communication skills.

· Knowledge of product development methodologies, including Waterfall, Agile/Scrum.

· Ability to work with very little supervision, prioritize between multiple tasks, meet aggressive deadlines, work extended hours (as needed)

· Ability to analyze a multitude of technical issues and find effective, practical solutions quickly

· Musical background is a plus.

Salary: $100,000.00 - $120,000.00 per year
