Airport GSE Maintenance Specialist – Electrical Diagnostics Focus (Orlando MCO)

Role type: Full-time (Day) | Compensation: Based on experience | Travel: 30%–40%

Core responsibilities

• Inspect and service GSE, trucks, and related equipment to maintain safe, reliable operation.
• Perform diagnostics and repair on diesel, electrical, and hydraulic systems; resolve assigned maintenance requests.
• Document all work; use manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools effectively.
• Provide daily status updates to leadership; ensure smooth turnover to next shift.
• Travel to other QAS stations as business needs dictate.
• Adhere to airline/QAS operating procedures and reinforce company mission and values.
• Comply with all applicable environmental laws and permits.
• Other duties as assigned.

Minimum qualifications

• 18 years or older; valid Florida driver’s license.
• High School Diploma or GED with relevant professional experience.
• Bring your own basic tools: screwdrivers, hammers, pliers, volt meter, sockets and wrenches up to 1" and up to 1/2" drive.
• Ability to work day schedule including weekends and holidays; able to travel for training when needed.
• Available to travel at least 30% annually.
• Knowledge of fluid types, diesel-powered machines, and tools—their design, use, repair, and maintenance.
• Working knowledge of manuals, schematics, and diagnostic tools.
• Hands-on diagnostic experience with diesel GSE (tugs, bobtails, forklifts, etc.).
• Direct experience with electrical and hydraulic systems.

Preferred background

• Experience entering information into a CMMS.
• Fleet, mechanic shop, or dealership experience.
• Electrical and hydraulics troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Familiarity with GSE and/or mobile field service trucks.
• ASE or manufacturer certifications.

Physical and environmental factors

• Frequent standing, walking, sitting, hand use, reaching; clear speech and hearing.
• Occasional lifting/moving of 25–55 lbs or more; climbing to 15 feet when required.
• Vision: close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
• Outdoor work with weather exposure; noise can be excessive at times.

Travel expectations

• Short-notice travel to support other QAS airport stations may be required.
• 30%–40% annual travel; company vehicle provided for trips ≤ 6 hours driving; airfare provided when beyond 6 hours.
